PCA Southwest incorporates the Temecula and Murrieta Valley areas of the county as well as Lake Elsinore. This collaborative’s objectives are to increase public awareness of child abuse and neglect and to provide parent education and professional training. The council partners heavily with the two local school districts in the area, (Murrieta Valley Unified and Temecula Valley Unified) and has members from Alternatives to Domestic Violence, the Southwest Family Justice Center, private treatment providers, and community-based organizations. The Southwest partners with these agencies in order to ensure a broad-based membership of the social service community interacting with children and families. Every year the Southwest collaborative hosts a Parent Conference with different themes or topics designed to raise awareness about and help reduce child abuse.
